Intelligent Supervision for Predictive Maintenance of Industrial Systems

In an increasingly globalized world, where competition is tough, and in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution (Industry 4.0 or factories of the future), companies must continuously innovate to improve their performance and remain competitive.

The SMART project aims to improve innovation, productivity, and competitiveness for SMEs through the development of intelligent monitoring and analysis systems. This will be achieved by developing methods, algorithms, and tools that allow SMEs to collect relevant data from the operation of their production systems, process this data to detect anomalies (or precursors of failure), diagnose probable causes, anticipate errors, and make decisions accordingly. This is part of "Prognostics & Health Management (PHM)." This approach allows for the more intensive development of condition-based and predictive maintenance, as well as reducing corrective and systematic maintenance. The implementation of these solutions will improve the reliability, availability, and safety of production systems, reducing operating costs for SMEs in the region.

The project is carried out by a consortium made up of academic and industrial partners from both sides of the Franco-Spanish border. These partners present complementary scientific and technological skills. They are:

  • CS2AC UPC from the Terrassa Campus
  • Ingenia-CAT, S.L. from Barcelona
  • ENIT from Tarbes
  • Metallicadour, S.L. from Tarbes
