Summary
This project proposed an optimal control solution for the sewage network of the city of Barcelona, with the goal of optimally controlling the gates installed in the sewage network that regulate the volume of water flowing to the sea or rivers, while also minimizing overflow in the collectors. It was implemented in a pilot basin. The feasibility of a similar system for Murcia was also studied. This project also addresses sensor failures and how fault-tolerant control can be achieved for them, aiming for fault-tolerant control of sewage network gates under extreme weather conditions of intense rainfall.
