Intelligent Supervision for the Predictive Maintenance of Industrial Systems

In an increasingly globalized world where competition is hard, and in the era of the fourth industrial revolution (industry 4.0 or factories of the future), companies must continuously innovate to improve their performance and stay competitive.

The SMART project aims to improve innovation, productivity and competitiveness of SMEs through the development of systems for intelligent monitoring and analysis. This will be done through the development of methods, algorithms and tools that allow SMEs to collect  relevant data regarding the operation of their production systems, processing these data to detect anomalies (or precursor signals of failure) and  diagnosing the probable causes, anticipating failures and making decisions accordingly. In this way we are in the framework of "Prognostics & Health Management (PHM)". This framework allows to develop conditional and predictive maintenance more intensively and also allows to reduce corrective and systematic maintenance. The implementation of these solutions will improve the reliability, availability and safety of production systems by reducing operating costs for SMEs in the region.

The project is carried out by a consortium formed by academic and industrial partners from both sides of the Franco-Spanish border. These partners present complementary scientific and technological skills. These are:

  • CS2AC UPC (Terrassa, Spain)
  • Ingenia-CAT, S.L. (Barcelona, Spain)
  • ENIT (Tarbes, France)
  • Metallicadour, S.L. (Tarbes, France)
